Course Description

Merge your fine art skills with information technology to help shape the future of areas like interactive media or games development. By blending traditional fine art making with cutting-edge IT theories you’ll graduate ready to push the boundaries of the growing intersection of IT and fine art. This unique double degree combines your passion for contemporary fine art with your interest in the fields of information technology. You’ll work one-on-one with some of Australia’s most successful artists to explore a variety of traditional and emerging production methods while developing your artistic skills in the studio. Combined with Information Technology, where you’ll develop cutting edge technology skills. You’ll choose from majors in Business Information Systems, Computer Networks and Security, Games Development, Interactive Media, or Software Development. Linking your lateral thinking and problem-solving skills you’ll graduate able to create innovative products, spaces and experiences using the latest technologies.

Entry Requirements

Academic Requirements 1. Equivalent Australian Year 12 with required score. 2. All applicants must satisfy the following prerequisites or their equivalents. 3. Australian VCE subjects - English- Units 3 & 4: a study score of at least 30 in English (EAL) or 25 in English other than EAL. Maths- Units 1 & 2: satisfactory completion of two units (any study combination) of General Mathematics, Mathematical Methods or Specialist Mathematics or Units 3 & 4: any mathematics 4. IB subjects- At least 4 in English SL or 3 in English HL or 5 in English B SL or 4 in English B HL. Maths - At least 3 in any mathematics subject 5. VET Certificate IV, diploma or advanced diploma graduates: To be considered, applicants will normally require at least 60% average. Preference will be given to students whose prior studies are related to the course in which they are seeking admission. Programs that involve competency-based assessment without grades or marks will not meet the admission requirements. 6. Higher Education - University: Two single units at an Australian higher education institution satisfy minimum entry requirements, but more units may be useful for selection, especially in areas of study related to the course in which admission is being sought. *** All applicants must satisfy the equivalence of the VCE subject prerequisites. *** Entire academic record This course uses the entire academic record as part of its selection considerations.
